Thermodynamic analysis of CO2 blends for vehicle heat pump at cold ambient temperature

The use of heat pump is a promising way energy conservation to improve the driving range electric vehicles. In this study, thermodynamic characteristics CO 2 –based blends in operation subcritical cycle are evaluated at different ambient temperatures considering two modes. Coefficient performance (COP) and volumetric heating capacity (VHC) used evaluate performance. Optimization comparison both transcritical cycles conducted using various refrigerants. results indicated that /R32 (50/50) always outputs higher COP than or other mixtures. /R41 (90/10) inferior due more power consumption compressor. R1234yf R152a with low GWP have lower COP, but much pressure also achieved. larger VHC, which facilitates simple configuration compact compression.
